REC CSV Cleaner Pro
Privacy Policy
How REC CSV Cleaner Pro accesses, processes, stores, and protects information.
Last updated: September 24, 2026
Local-first data processing
REC CSV Cleaner Pro is designed to process CSV, delimited-text, and supported Excel data locally on your Windows device. REC Ventures does not receive or store the contents of files you open as part of normal cleaning, transformation, validation, batch processing, or export workflows.
1. Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to REC CSV Cleaner Pro, a Windows desktop application provided by REC Ventures.
It explains what information the application may access, how selected files are processed, what information may be stored locally, when network access may occur, and what information REC Ventures may receive outside normal local data processing.
Website-related information is covered separately by the REC Ventures Website Privacy Policy.
2. No REC Ventures account required
REC CSV Cleaner Pro does not require a REC Ventures account for its core file-cleaning and data-preparation functions.
You do not need to submit your name, email address, profile information, or file contents to REC Ventures in order to open and process supported files locally.
3. Files and personal information the application may access
REC CSV Cleaner Pro accesses files and folders when you choose them, open them through the application, add them to a batch, or select a location for an output file.
Supported data may include CSV, TSV, delimited text, and Excel workbook content. Those files can contain personal information such as names, email addresses, telephone numbers, identifiers, addresses, dates, or other information supplied by you or contained in your source data.
The application accesses this information only as needed to perform the operations you request, such as importing, previewing, profiling, cleaning, transforming, validating, mapping, deduplicating, batch processing, and exporting data.
4. Local file processing
Core cleaning and transformation operations are performed locally on your device. REC CSV Cleaner Pro does not upload selected source files or generated output files to REC Ventures servers for normal processing.
REC Ventures does not receive the row values, cell contents, filenames, worksheets, or generated output files that you process locally through normal use of the application.
Output files are written to locations you select or to local output locations used by the workflow you configure.
5. Email validation and optional mail-domain checks
Email-quality features can check syntax, common domain typos, role or shared-address patterns, and known disposable-provider indicators locally.
If you enable the optional mail-domain check, REC CSV Cleaner Pro performs DNS lookups for the domain portion of an email address, such as example.com. The check does not send the mailbox or local-part portion before the @ symbol, does not sign in to a mailbox, does not send a verification email, and does not attempt SMTP mailbox verification.
DNS requests are resolved using the DNS configuration available to your device or network. The DNS resolver or network provider handling that request may therefore process the queried domain according to its own terms and privacy practices. REC Ventures does not operate a DNS service that receives these lookups from the application.
The optional mail-domain check can be left disabled when you do not want the application to perform those network lookups.
6. Saved workflows and local application data
REC CSV Cleaner Pro may store application information locally so that features such as saved cleaning templates and reusable schema mappings can work between sessions.
Local application data may include, where applicable:
- saved template names and descriptions;
- cleaning and transformation step settings;
- source column names and saved column aliases used for schema mapping;
- application preferences and local workflow state; and
- temporary working information required to complete a local operation.
Saved templates are intended to describe how data should be processed. They are not designed to store copies of the source rows being cleaned.
7. Batch processing
Batch features can access files and folders you select in order to inspect compatible inputs, apply a saved workflow, and write results to a chosen output location.
Batch processing is performed locally. Source files and batch output files are not uploaded to REC Ventures servers as part of the normal batch workflow.
8. Internet and network access
An internet connection is not required for the application's core local cleaning, transformation, quality analysis, template, batch, and export features.
Network access may occur when you explicitly enable optional mail-domain checking and may also occur for Microsoft Store or Windows platform functions such as licensing, trials, installation, updates, security, or diagnostics.
These platform or optional network activities do not require REC CSV Cleaner Pro to upload the contents of your source files to REC Ventures for normal data processing.
9. Microsoft Store and Windows services
If you obtain, license, purchase, install, update, or use REC CSV Cleaner Pro through Microsoft Store, Microsoft and Windows may process information associated with those platform services.
This may include account, purchase, trial, licensing, installation, update, device, security, or diagnostic information according to Microsoft's own terms, privacy settings, and privacy policies.
Microsoft Store and Windows platform processing is separate from REC CSV Cleaner Pro's local processing of your selected data files.
10. Analytics, advertising, and profiling
REC CSV Cleaner Pro does not use the contents of your locally processed files for advertising or behavioral profiling.
The application is not designed to transmit your source-file contents, generated outputs, or saved cleaning templates to REC Ventures for product analytics.
Microsoft or Windows may provide platform-level diagnostics or Store information according to your Windows and Microsoft account settings and Microsoft's own privacy practices.
11. Sharing and sale of information
REC Ventures does not sell or rent the contents of files you process with REC CSV Cleaner Pro.
Because core file processing is local, REC Ventures does not receive those files through normal use and therefore does not disclose their contents to third parties as part of normal cleaning or transformation.
Separate platform information may be processed by Microsoft for Store distribution, licensing, trials, updates, security, or related services. Optional mail-domain checks may be processed by the DNS resolver used by your device or network as described above.
12. Your controls
You control which files and folders you open, which workflow steps you apply, where you save output files, whether optional mail-domain checks are enabled, and which saved templates you keep.
Saved templates can be managed and deleted through the application's template tools. Source and output files remain under your control in the storage locations where you keep them.
13. Data retention
REC Ventures does not retain server-side copies of files you process locally because those files are not uploaded to REC Ventures for normal processing.
Local files remain in the locations where you or the application save them until you remove them. Locally saved templates and application data remain on the device until you delete them through the application, remove the applicable local data, or otherwise clear them through Windows.
Information associated with Microsoft Store or Windows services is retained according to Microsoft's applicable policies and settings.
14. Security
REC CSV Cleaner Pro limits normal data processing to the local device and does not require source files to be transferred to REC Ventures servers. This reduces unnecessary transmission of file contents.
You remain responsible for securing your Windows account, device, selected files, local storage locations, backups, and exported data. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
15. Sensitive data
REC CSV Cleaner Pro is a general-purpose data-cleaning tool and may technically process sensitive or highly sensitive information if you choose to place that information in a supported file.
REC Ventures does not require such information for the application's core operation and does not receive the contents of locally processed files through normal use. You are responsible for ensuring that your processing of sensitive data complies with applicable laws, organizational policies, and any duties you owe to the people represented in the data.
16. Children's privacy
REC CSV Cleaner Pro is a general productivity application and is not directed at children or designed to collect personal information from children.
17. Changes to this policy
REC Ventures may update this Privacy Policy when REC CSV Cleaner Pro, Microsoft Store integration, legal requirements, or our information-handling practices change.
Material changes will be published on this page and the "Last updated" date will be revised. This policy will be updated before REC Ventures relies on a new feature that materially changes how the application collects or transmits personal information.
