REC PDF PRO
Privacy Policy
How REC PDF PRO accesses, processes, stores, and protects information.
Last updated: September 11, 2026
Privacy by design
REC PDF PRO is designed as an offline-first PDF application. REC PDF PRO does not collect or transmit personal information as part of its core document-processing functions. Documents are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to REC Ventures servers for processing.
1. Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to REC PDF PRO, a Windows desktop application provided by REC Ventures.
It explains what information the application may access, how documents are processed, what may be stored locally, when network access may occur, and what information REC Ventures may receive outside normal document processing.
Website-related information is covered separately by the REC Ventures Website Privacy Policy.
2. No REC Ventures account required
REC PDF PRO does not require you to create a REC Ventures user account in order to perform its core PDF-processing functions.
REC Ventures does not require you to submit your name, email address, or profile information to open and process documents locally in REC PDF PRO.
3. Documents and files the application accesses
REC PDF PRO accesses documents and file locations when you choose them, open them through the application, pass them to the application through Windows, or select a destination for an output file.
Depending on the tool you choose, the application may access document text, images, pages, form fields, annotations, bookmarks, metadata, signatures, security settings, or other document structures necessary to perform the requested operation.
This access is used to provide features such as viewing, searching, filling forms, signing, editing, annotating, merging, splitting, extracting, deleting, rotating, reordering, converting, compressing, protecting, unlocking, or printing documents.
4. Local document processing
Core PDF operations are designed to run locally on your computer. REC PDF PRO does not upload your selected PDF files to REC Ventures servers for normal document processing.
REC Ventures does not receive the contents of your PDFs, document text, form entries, images, annotations, or generated output files as part of normal local document use.
Output files are written to locations on your computer that you choose or that are used by the applicable local workflow.
5. Local application data
Some application features may store information locally on your device so that REC PDF PRO can provide the feature you selected.
This may include, where applicable:
- application settings and preferences;
- saved signature or initials information;
- document or workspace recovery information;
- temporary working files;
- session state;
- recent or pending file information used by local workflows; and
- locally generated output files.
These items are used locally for application functionality and are not document copies stored on REC Ventures servers.
You remain responsible for securing your Windows account, device, local storage locations, backups, and any files or signatures you choose to save locally.
6. Internet and network access
REC PDF PRO does not require an internet connection for its core local PDF-processing functionality.
Network access may nevertheless occur for product services that are separate from local document processing, such as licensing, Microsoft Store integration, product activation, update checks, or other explicitly enabled online services.
These product-service connections do not require REC PDF PRO to upload the contents of your PDF documents to REC Ventures for normal PDF processing.
If REC Ventures introduces a feature that requires transmitting document contents to an external service, the feature and associated privacy practice will be disclosed appropriately and this policy will be updated before such processing is relied upon.
7. Microsoft Store and Windows services
If you obtain, license, purchase, install, update, or use REC PDF PRO through the Microsoft Store, Microsoft and Windows may process information associated with those platform services.
This may include account, purchase, trial, licensing, installation, update, device, or diagnostic information according to Microsoft's own terms, privacy settings, and privacy policies.
Microsoft Store platform processing is separate from REC PDF PRO's local processing of your documents. REC Ventures does not receive your PDF contents merely because the application is distributed or licensed through the Microsoft Store.
8. Installed software and operating-system services
Some REC PDF PRO functions may rely on local operating-system services, printer services, native libraries, or installed applications such as supported Office software.
When you choose a workflow that uses another locally installed application or operating-system service, information necessary to perform that operation may be passed locally to that component.
Third-party software installed on your device is governed by the terms and privacy practices of its respective provider.
9. Analytics and document contents
REC Ventures does not use the contents of your locally processed documents for advertising, behavioral profiling, or document analytics.
REC PDF PRO is not designed to transmit your selected document contents, filenames, or generated output files to REC Ventures for analytics.
10. Data sharing and sale
REC Ventures does not sell or rent your PDF documents or their contents.
Because core document operations are performed locally, REC Ventures does not receive those documents through normal use and therefore does not disclose those document contents to third parties as part of normal document processing.
Separate platform or product-service information may be processed by providers such as Microsoft where necessary for Store distribution, licensing, updates, security, or related services.
11. Data retention
REC Ventures does not retain server-side copies of documents that you process locally in REC PDF PRO because those documents are not uploaded to REC Ventures for normal processing.
Files, local settings, recovery information, temporary data, or saved application data that exist on your device remain subject to the application's local lifecycle and to the storage choices you make on your computer.
Information associated with third-party platform services, such as Microsoft Store licensing or purchase records, is retained according to the practices of the relevant platform provider.
12. Email and support communications
REC PDF PRO itself does not require you to submit an email address for normal document processing.
If you voluntarily contact REC Ventures for support, feedback, or another reason, REC Ventures will receive the email address you use and any information, files, screenshots, or other material you choose to include.
Support communications are separate from REC PDF PRO's normal local document-processing activity. Information you provide in a support email is used to respond to your request, investigate the matter, maintain appropriate support records, or comply with applicable legal obligations.
Do not send confidential documents or sensitive personal information with a support request unless it is necessary to resolve the issue and you are comfortable providing that information.
13. Security
Keeping core document processing on the local device reduces the need to transmit documents over the internet and limits REC Ventures' exposure to their contents.
No software can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining reasonable security for your device, Windows account, storage locations, backups, passwords, documents, and other locally stored information.
14. Children's privacy
REC PDF PRO does not require a REC Ventures account and is not designed to collect personal information from children through its core document-processing functions.
If a parent or guardian believes that a child has voluntarily provided personal information to REC Ventures through a support email or another communication channel, they may contact us to request appropriate action.
15. Your choices and controls
You control which documents you choose to open or process with REC PDF PRO and where you save output files.
Where the application provides controls for saved local data, such as saved signatures, initials, preferences, or other application information, you may use those controls to manage the applicable locally stored data.
Because REC Ventures does not normally receive documents that remain only on your device, REC Ventures generally cannot retrieve, modify, or delete those local documents on your behalf.
16. Privacy rights
Where REC Ventures holds personal information about you outside normal local document processing, such as information contained in support correspondence, you may have rights under applicable data protection law to request access, correction, deletion, or other appropriate action.
Requests relating to personal information held by REC Ventures may be sent using the contact address below.
17. Changes to this policy
REC Ventures may update this Privacy Policy when REC PDF PRO gains new functionality, its information-handling practices change, distribution arrangements change, or applicable legal requirements change.
The current version will be published at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date.
